DREAMS COME TRUE leader Nakamura Masato issues apology on blog, fans rally to show their support

On February 16th, DREAMS COME TRUE had to cancel their Hiroshima performances for the 17th and 18th as vocalist Yoshida Miwa had the flu.

But DCT leader Nakamura Masato felt bad about the cancellations (those who purchased tickets would still receive a refund), so he decided to go to the performance venue to do a meet and greet with fans to offer an apology .

And while Nakamura was able to meet with numerous fans, to take photos and shake their hands, unfortunately, the number of people who went to the meet and greet exceeded staff expectations that staff had to shut down the line.

Because the environment and that the preparation time was not enough to factor the huge number of people who turned out to the event, Nakamura posted an apology on his blog and again on his LINE account.

Fans have commented on Nakamura’s apology telling him that they appreciate his sincerity and that there is no need for repeated apologies and he doesn’t have to take the blame.

Fans also commented that the fact that Nakamura went out of his way to meet and apologize with many fans as he could and that was a good symbol of his generosity and appreciation of his fans because the Hiroshima concert was canceled.

Fans acknowledge that it was very difficult for him to meet thousands of fans given the situation but most importantly, they would like to see DREAMS COME TRUE return strong, for Yoshida Miwa to recover from having the flu and for Nakamura to cheer up after what had transpired.

DREAMS COME TRUE is one of Japan’s most successful music groups.  The group formed originally as a trio back in 1988, with Yoshida Miwa (lead vocals), Nakamura Masato (bass) and Nishikawa Takahiro (keyboard).  Nishikawa would leave the group in 2002.  The group have album and singles sales of over 55 million worldwide.
