MIYAVI, RIZE drummer Kaneko Nobuaki and former AKB48 member Shinoda Mariko will appear in film adaptation of Hiya Keisuke’s manga series “Gangoose”

Takasugi Mahiro, Katou Ryou, Watanabe Daichi will be starring in the film “Gangoose” directed by Irie Yu an will be released in the fall of 2018.

Recently, additional cast members were announced including musician/producer MIYAVI, RIZE drummer Kaneko Nobuaki and former AKB48 member, Shinoda Mariko.

“Gangoose” was serialized in Kodansha’s “Shukan Morning” from March 2013-January 2017 and a total of 16 volumes have been published.  The manga was written by Hiya Keisuke and is inspired by Suzuki Daisuke’s 2011 non-fiction book “Boys without a home”.

The manga series revolves around three young guys who are Psychidelic thieves known as Back Scars (because each of the members have a bad scar on their backs) that attend a reform school and they target assailants.

Back Scars consists of three  people who have specific targets, Kazuki is a genius in the handling of tools and the leader of Takeo (who happens to be a guy who is obese and a big fan of Yukirin of the group OTW48;  Psyche is the information analysis psychedelic and is responsible for target selection (never graduated from elementary school, so he can’t read or write well, so he carries an electronic diary) and Takeo is known as super strong, gentle giant member of Back Scars and is in charge of vehicles (he has severe stuttering).

Their primary antagonist is Rokuzen, a violent crime family led by Adachi Tomoya.

Takasugi Mahiro will be portraying the role of Psyche, Katou Ryou will be portraying the role of Kazuki and Watanabe Daichi will be portraying the role of Takeo.

The movie adaptation will feature different character settings and characters are original to the film.
