Former C/FO President Donald Yee has passed away

When it comes to the earlier years of the promotion of Japanese animation in America through the anime convention scene, there are numerous individuals that we will forever remember for their contribution in building awareness.

Donald Yee was one of those people.

The President of C/FO in Los Angeles from 1993-2007, one of our memories of Donald that comes to mind is a party held at Anime America in San Jose with Takada Akemi and Nagai Go.

Don was known for his artwork, he was one of the original anime cosplayers in California who dressed up as Detective Zenigata from “Lupin III” but he was also someone you would see at a convention often and was the coolest individual you can possibly meet.

Donald lost his battle against cancer but despite the pain he has endured, he still managed to attend events, continued smiling and gave it all he had to fight the cancer.

Many of his friends and also those in the industry paid their tribute on social media after learning about the passing of Donald Yee.
