Shueisha announces that it will resume “Rurouni Kenshin – Meiji Kenkaku Romantan/Hokkaido-hen”

『るろうに剣心ー明治剣客浪漫譚・北海道編ー』が掲載された、ジャンプスクエア2017年10月号

Shueisha has announced that it will resume “Rurouni Kenshin – Meiji Kenkaku Romantan/Hokkaido-hen” for its July issue to be released on June 4th.

“Rurouni Kenshin” creator Watsuki Nobuhiro was charged with possession of child pornography and in February 2017, the Tokyo Summary Court ordered Watsuki to pay a fine of Y200,000 (about $1900 US).

Shueisha responded with the following posted on their website:

We are deeply sorry for the inconvenience and worries that were put on the readers for this work being on hiatus for a long time.

Although the writer is still spending his days in reflection and atonement, we believe it is the responsibility of the writer and publisher to respond to the voices received from everyone who wanted work to continue.

So, with our July issue, we will be restarting the series starting on June 4th.

We ask our readers for their understanding.
