ROLA settles with LIBERA, plans to sign with WME and IMG in the future

Rola (28) is one of the most photographed talents/models in Japan.  She has established her own persona on television, became one of the most wanted TV personalities and has one of the largest social media followings for a Japanese celebrity.

She debuted as a model at the age of 16 and has decorated the covers of all fashion magazines.

Known for her exotic look, her father is Bangladeshi and her mother is Japanese with a quarter Russian, she started to attracted overseas companies as a model but she was also cast in the 2016 film “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter”.

And because of demand, many major talent agencies have been pursuing her and Rola has been trying to leave her agency.

But in 2017, there were media reports that she has been locked into a ten-year contract with her management, Libera.  The South China Morning Post reported that if she left her agency, the owner threatened to publish damaging information on her.

With the trouble she has had with leaving Libera, her appearances on television in Japan dwindled.  Her fan club was temporarily suspended.

And on June 17th, she tweeted the following which was later deleted:

The tweet said:

“I have been betrayed recently and I am sad.  Sad at the bottom of my heart.  I will try my best and do my best to many people.   Thank you.”

“I will cherish my family and brother.  But I can’t believe anyone now, I am scared.  My older brother is protecting me”.

These tweets no doubt left fans worried about Rola.

She then responded with a few more tweets.

Rola wrote:

“I definitely do not want to be a person with a black heart.  Please return the trust for 10 years.  I am good already.  Just because I have suffered, I can become stronger”.

Today, Rola posted the following on Instagram and Twitter:

“I have had a good meeting and reconciled with Libera at this time.  In the future, I will contract with the agency WME and IMG for foreign countries.  I will pursue many dreams in the future.  Thank you”.
