"Terrace House: Opening New Doors" Episodes 21 and Shohei's Oppai song (Spoiler Alert)

As episode 20, gave many viewers the relationship that many wanted to see happen in the house, episode 21 also was a goodbye episode to that very same couple.

The houseguests prior to episode 21 airing were:

Koseta Mayu – A gravure model who came to the Terrace House to find romance.
Uemura Shohei – A musician who now has his eyes set on Seina.
Shimabukuro Seina – Shimabukuro Seina is from the original first series “Terrace House: Boys x Girls Next Door”, who is a model, broke up with first series cast member/surfer, Itoh Daiki and wants to grow stronger as an individual and find a good man.
Nakamura Takayuki – A 31-year-old professional snowboarder. Very mature for his age and living among younger people. He doesn’t like conflict and tries to keep things cool. Owns his own snowboard clothing line and wants to become successful.
Sato Tsubasa – A 24-year-old ice hockey player. Tsubasa is a woman with a kind heart, dedicated to her profession and wants to make it to the national team and because of how busy she is, she is not always at the house. Often hangs out with Shion.
Okamoto Shion – A 22-year-old fashion model who is half American and half Japanese. He hopes the exposure he gets from “Terrace House: Opening New Doors” will lead him to more opportunities to become a runway model in Paris. Often hangs out with Tsubasa.

With episode 20, viewers finally got to see these two finally hooking up.

And as episode 21, these same two are leaving “Terrace House: Opening New Doors”. I have to admit that I was surprised that Shion and Tsubasa were leaving so quickly after the romance was shown on episode 20 was a bit of a bummer, but the episodes have been alluding to Tsubasa needing to do consider options to better herself as a hockey player and Shion, willing to make things work, even if it was a long distance relationship.

And of course, Seina’s bluntness is always interesting because although some people may be turned off by it, I’m sure many viewers wanted to know if Shion and Tsubasa had sex.

But I will say that from Shion was a hard guy to read after Yuudai left. But in the end, his character turned out quite positive and the honest emotions he shown on the show towards Tsubasa was pretty cool. Tsubasa was probably the most genuine character, she was a dedicated hockey player and she was featured as prominently in the first season, but the second season, we started to see and know more about her, especially her dedication to hockey and losing her mother at a young age. These two turned out better than I expected when it came to chemistry and how their relationship developed.

And while these episodes are filmed months in advance, if there is one thing that makes me smile is knowing that Tsubasa posted this fun video of the two earlier this week.

So, yes…Team Shubasa still going strong!

Seeing Taka and Mayu go out was cool. But as Mayu was a breath of fresh air in the beginning, Taka pretty much tells her how he feels and for Taka who has been a guy that doesn’t like confrontation and tends to not upset anyone, we’ll see how things go with these two, as it doesn’t look like anything will develop. But it’ll be interesting to see if Mayu will be showcased as much. Unfortunately, she’s not gelling with the others as I was expecting but with two new cast members to be added, we’ll see how things go. And surprisingly, we haven’t seen much of Taka as much either. And at least Mayu and Seina are getting along well.

But I do feel that Taka was a bit harsh this episode and it was a bit uncharacteristic to see him behave this way.

But I will say this, if you thought the Miyagi Daiki leaving the “Terrace House” for “Terrace House: Boys x Girls Next Door” was sad between the bros, wait until you watch episode 21.
