The cast of NHK BS Premium Shizuoka ‘s “Plastic Smile” meet with the press, Katayama Moemi dresses up in cosplay

Gravure model Katayama Moemi came in cosplay along with her fellow cast members Momota Kanako (of Momoiro Clover Z), Aoyagi Sho (of Gekidan Exile) and Takeda Shinji for NHK-BS Premium’s Shizuoka drama, “Plastic Smile”.

Katayama cosplayed as a character Chi Cha from the manga “Liason Deer Volo”, featuring character designs by Katsura Masakazu (“Video Girl Ai”, “DNA 2”).

The drama is a regional drama produced for the first time by NHK Shizuoka Broadcasting Station. The main character is 25-year-old Hayashida Tsumugi (portrayed by Momota Kanako) who works at the General Affairds Division for plastic model maker, Shimada in Shizuoka.

Tsumugi likes to cosplay and in her spare time, she likes to make models.  But she likes to keep work and her hobby as separate.

The company president (portrayed by Takeda Shinji) has appointed the perfectionist, Tsumugi as the “Work Way Reform” leader tasked to find a way to reduce employee overtime at the company.

But Tsumugi’s senior Sho (portrayed by Aoyagi Sho), is a an employee who tends to be overworked and often works overtime. But he joined the company primarily to make his favorite plastic models and his motto is “Work is life”.

Can a woman who does not work as a hobby and a man who works in a job that is purely his hobby work together?  The two are complete opposites with major conflict.  What is work?  What is a hobby?

The drama will be broadcast on November 21 at 9 p.m.
