SCANDAL’s HARUNA’s first photo book titled “SOMEHWERE” was released on August 10th, the day of her 30th birthday.

HARUNA attended a book release commemoration event for “SOMEWHERE” on August 18th at HMV & BOOKS in SHIBUYA’s 6F.

HARUNA is the lead vocalist for SCANDAL and she has enjoyed the popularity of the group from her teens to her twenties, but as she begins her 30s, it’s a new chapter of her life.

16 media companies attended the press conference held before the event.  HARUNA was a bit nervous because it was her first interview not related to music but she is relieved to see that there were people who bought the book.  In fact, there were fans who purchased more than 10 volumes at the event, many who visited from overseas.

When asked how she decided to do a photo book, HARUNA said, “I heard it from my manager.  At the time, we were talking about how I’m turning 30-years-old-soon and I was told how I’m always having fun at live performances and was told I would be very good to try it and so, I decided to have more confidence in myself and do a photo book”.

When asked about how it was like of shooting photos in Cebu (Philippines), HARUNA said, “It was a 2-day bullet schedule but it was a lot of fun.  The most memorable thing is the last page of the photo collection with the sunset and seeing a dramatic landscape.  It was very impressive and shooting that, I will never forget that”.

HARUNA was asked what her favorite photo in the book was, she said, “Not only is this picture but also a picture where I took in the pool at night, which is another favorite of mine.  It was the first time I took pictures in a swimsuit but I wasn’t sure what kind of photos could be taken in the evening with barely any lighting at all.  It was quite mysterious but I was satisfied to see it was a very artistic photo”.

If asked if she felt resistant in shooting in a swimsuit, HARUNA said, “For that, I went to the gym and received training and worked on my body, so I enjoyed it rather than feeling resistance”.

When asked what her resolution was at the age of 30, HARUNA replied, “Even after my thirties, my goal is to remain active and my goal is to continue music.  For marriage or childbirth, I think I would like to marry and give birth before I’m 35-years-old”.
