Aimyon featured in the “AERA” magazine issue no. 9

Singer/songwriter/musician Aimyon is coming strong after a successful first year.

With her new album “Shunkanteki Sixth Sense” debuting at a strong #2 on the Oricon Charts on February 13th, things continue to look positive for the young artist who performed at last year’s “Kohaku Uta Gassen” event.

Not bad for an artist who’s friend sent her application for an audition without her knowledge and also her YouTube video performance.

Aimyon went on to write the lyrics of “Time Goes By” (the third single of Johnny’s West) in 2015 and made her debut indie debut back in 2015 with “Anata Kaibou Junaika (Shine)” which was released only through Tower Records and entered the Oricon Indies Top 10 chart.

Aimyon (23) has the support of the younge generation who are inspired by her singing/songwriting/music ability and its through her family which influenced her music.

She was influenced by various types of music through her father and then she began making her own music.  Also, Aimyon said that growing up in a big family of six siblings, communication skills and observation also plays a big part.

“When we have a lot of people, we try to help each other, everyone gets better by reading the hearts of people, even now, I have to think about why my sisters are feeling (laughing).  Both sisters are giving birth to a child and there are also seven nephews and nieces together.  Of course, I think about the weight of life and radiance of wanting to lvie.  I think that plays an influence in my songwriting too,” Aimyon said.

With her new album “Shunkanteki Sixth Sense”, Aimyon said the sixth sense of that moment is important as her emotions are all put into the music.  “There is also a feeling that I want people to know that I can perform a variety of genres.  I’m making more folk and love songs.  I made it the most appealing album.”
