Five Japanese cosplayers have been detained in Malaysia

Eleven Japanese cosplayers went to Malaysia to perform appear at an anime event, and now Malaysia immigration authorities have detained five of them.

The Japan embassy in Malaysia says the five are being held for allegedly not having the proper visas for attending the cosplay event at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur.

While Japanese are not required to get a visa to visit Malaysia, because five cosplayers performed at the event, they are behind held and question at an immigration bureau facility.
