With Nogizaka46 captain Sakura Reika graduating on November 1st, a new captain needs to be selected.
On August 14th, Nogizaka46 performed in Osaka at Kyocera Dome and it was announced that the next captain will be first generation member Akimoto Manatsu.
Sakurai said, “After I announced my graduation from the group, I was honestly wondering who would be worthy of being captain. Manatsu is a member that supports the heart of the group and I believe she will be an even better captain than me”.
