Maeda Atsuko asked about her past with AKB48 ten years ago

Maeda Atsuko appeared at a stage greeting on the first day of the film “Soshiki no Meijin” (Funeral Master) in Tokyo. The film is about classmates reuniting after ten years have passed since graduation which led to press asking Maeda about being a member of AKB48 ten years ago.

Ten years ago was when the first Sosenkyo Senbatsu (General Election) was held for AKB48 and she was voted as the center.

Maeda said, “The manager made a schedule which he prepared for me and everything was planned by the minute.  Recording, being involved at a handshake at Big Sight, a solo gravure shoot, the next day going to New York for six days and then going back to New York four days later, which I believe was for an anime event and then I went back to Japan, back to the office”.

This left everyone in the room surprised.

Maeda continued, “Looking back at it, I thought the schedule was very good.  I’ve been doing my best and I want to say that I’m doing very well now because of all the effort I put in”.

When asked about the memory at that time, Maeda said, “I can’t remember everywhere I went (laughing), but I can enjoy it more now”.
