Kinoshita Yukina is retiring from the entertainment world, five days after she resumed entertainment activities

Nearly eight months after the tapioca scandal, Kinoshita announced on July 1st of resuming entertainment activity.  On July 6th, Kinoshita announced that she was retiring from entertainment activities.

Her entertainment agency Platinum Production made the following statement:

Our company announced that she was resuming activities on July 1st, but as we continued to carefully discuss future activities, it was extremely difficult to maintain a trusting relationship with her for the future.  We received the following offer from her and the exclusive management contract was canceled and Kinoshita Yukina has retired from the entertainment world.  We have worked with Kinoshita Yukina for 14 years but as a result of what had transpired, we were aware of our responsibility as a management company.  We apologized to all the fans who have supported Kinoshita Yukina for many years and we are grateful for your understanding.

Kinoshita’s return wasn’t accepted by people.  Many netizens took to the Internet claiming her apology was not enough or not genuine.

Nevertheless, the retirement was a fall from grace which started with the scandal in the fall of 2019 and didn’t stop.

The end of the year featured the divorce with her and Fujimoto Toshifumi (49) of the comedy group FUJIWARA, with speculation that she had an affair with an athlete.  Although, tabloids believe it’s a “camouflage divorce” because Fujimoto still lives in the same condominium complex and magazine publications have seen the two out and about together.  But Fujimoto insists that he lives close for their two children.

Today, Fujimoto issued the following comment on the Yoshimoto Kogyo “Laugh & Peace” website:

Kinoshita Yukina announced her retirement.  I, Fujimoto Toshifumi, will continue to support her and the children.  I would like to ask the mass media, starting today, she will be living life as a normal individual and not as an entertainer.  Please do not bother her children, family or neighbors.

But the reason why Kinoshita has been out of the spotlight was her altercation with a tapioca shop back in October.  According to Chunichi Sports, Kinoshita’s sister wasn’t paid her salary as the owner suspected her of stealing. And Kinoshita threatened the owner. The messages were posted online and while it may have been  seen that Kinoshita posted to defend a family member, it also caused business to suffer.  And media reported that the business may take legal action.

Kinoshita Yukina has posted an apology on Instagram for past DM’s that were posted towards an owner of a tapioca shop where her sister had worked.

Kinoshita released the following comment, “I am very sorry to bother those who were involved, other people and fans with my remarks.   Reflecting on what I have done, I am refraining from performing arts activities for the time being.  I would like to review my own self and apologize in good faith to the other party.  I am very sorry”.
