A new chapter for Keyakizaka46, a new group name and reboot, final Keyakizaka46 single will be released digitally on August 21st

Keyakizaka46 is a group that has had tremendous success in five years, but in the last year we have seen members graduate, including the departure of Keyakizaka46 center, Hirate Yurina (19) who was the face of the group.

On July 16th, Keyakizaka46 announced that it will perform their first live concert without an audience and will have a new group name and will receive a reboot.

Keyakizaka46 captain Sugai Yuka (24) said, “There is something we would like to tell you.  We, Keyakizaka46, will come to an end after five years.  We will say goodbye to Keyakizaka46.  The last live of Keyakizaka is scheduled for October and we will divide activities and have a new group name and we will be reborn”.

“Of course, it was just the members who could accept this decision right away.  We also have a strong feeling towards Keyakizaka46, but we could not continue with a half-heartfelt feeling.  I also love Keyakizaka.  I have been active in the hope that I can continue to protect 46.  However, as a result of discussing with the staff and members , I decided that it was a decision to become even stronger as a group”.

“There were many dreams that I could achieve because I was with Keyakizaka46.  There were many achievements for everyone, including members who are not here right now”.

Sugai continued, “We promise to become a strong group again, so please look forward to our return.  We look forward to your continued support in the future.  Finally, the last single from us with the name of Keyakizaka46 will be “Dare ga sono kane o narasu no ka?” (Who will ring the bell?)”.

The single will be released digitally from Sony Records on August 21, 2020 and will feature Kobayashi Yui as the center.
