KAT-TUN member Kamenashi Kazuya (34) who was involved in the drinking scandal with actor Yamashita Tomohisa (35) apologized for his behavior at the pre-screening event for “Jikobukken 2020”.

Kamenashi said, “Thank you very much for gathering today during this hot weather.  First of all, I would like to express my sincerest apologies for the inconvenience I caused to many people” and then Kamenashi discussed the upcoming film.

Both Kamenashi and Yamashita were disciplined by Johnny’s Jimusho for going to a restaurant that sold liquor and inviting people to eat and drink with them.  Two of the women with them faked her age until it was revealed by Bunshin Online on August 7th that both were underage models.  Also, that Yamashita allegedly joined on the women at a hotel.

While Johnny’s said both men were told she was of drinking age and that she lied to both the establishment and the two entertainers, the problem is that the men engaged in social activities with people they didn’t know during this time when people are trying to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus and that both men “lacked awareness and responsibility”.

While Kamenashi will need to reflect on his actions and continue to apologize, Yamashita has been barred from any entertainment activity for the time being.  Numerous media outlets are speculating that Yamashita may be leaving Johnny’s in September.
