Kubozuka Yosuke takes to Instagram to argue against certain media reports

Kubozuka Yosuke (41) took to Instagram to speak out against the media after a few media published articles that he was defending actor Iseya Yusuke (44), who was arrested for alleged marijuana possession earlier in the week.

Kubozuka writes, “As usual, the damn media seems to not be reporting the facts again, so I will send my message here.  It is is reported that I defended Iseya-kun”.

Kubozuka writes that his message was that while a crime is a crime, he has no objection to that.  But there is a possibility of rehabilitation and restarting one’s life.  He also feels that media reporting on facts that are difficult to prove legally will cause enormous damage and impact the people (which he brings up the Coronavirus situation).

He also writes that the world has seen the usefulness of marijuana (cannabis) which is well-recognized.

Kubozuka has had his opinions about the media, at one time, wearing a T-shirt many years ago on TV with profanity directed to the media and publicly spoke on behalf of marijuana, which in looked at as in Japan as a hard drug, while other areas of the world especially in the United States, as some states have legalized or have relaxed rules towards the drug.

Meanwhile, Tokyo Olympics Chief Executive Muto Toshiro has emphasized and reminded visitors who are coming to Japan for the Olympics in 2021 that while some countries around the world have relaxed rules, cannabis is not legal in Japan and all suspects will be prosecuted.
