On March 11th, 2011, the Tohoku region was devasted from an earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster.
It has been seven years since then and companies, along with celebrities do what they can to lend their support and raise donations to those affected in the disaster.
In the video, Katori Shingo talked about visiting the location after the earthquake, meeting with victims. And all three vowed to visit the area.
When the disaster happened back in 2011, the three were members of SMAP and with their TV program “SMAP x SMAP”, worked with Softbank to raise money for donations. In fact, back in 1995, after the Great Hanshin Earthquake, the group would raise money. And would do so in 2016 after the Kumamoto earthquake in which Katori Shingo and Nakai Masahiro visited the area and cooked for those affected by the earthquake.
Katori Shingo sent a handwritten message to Tohoku and said, “I will never forget my thoughts of Tohoku and would like to continue to send my smile with love from Tokyo”.
