“FLCL 2” and “FLCL 3” announced for a theatrical release in 2018, special items to be sold at AnimeJapan 2018

“FLCL” (Furikuri) was released as an six-episode OVA series back in 2000 by GAINAX and Production I.G..

It was announced that the theatrical versions of “FLCL 2” and “FLCL 3” will be released nationwide in Japan in 2018 and an illustration from Sadamoto Yoshiyuki was also released.

A series created by the FLCL Production Committee (GAINAX, Proudction I.G. and Starchild Records) after the  “Neon Genesis Evangelion” TV series, “FLCL” had Tsurumaki Kazuya as the series director while Otsuka Masahiko, Saeki Shouji and Ando Takeshi directed the episodes and Enokido Yoji wrote the script.

For the theatrical films, Motohiro Katsuyuki (“PSYCHO-PASS) will be the chief director; Arai Kazuto, Kaiya Toshihisa, Ogawa Yuki, Ibata Yoshihide, Suezawa Kei and Ikehata Hiroshi will be directing the second film; Uemura Yutaka and Suzuki Kiyotaka will be directors for the third film; the script will be written by Iwai Hideto;  Tusurmaki Kazuya will return as a supervisor and Sadamoto Yoshiyuki will be the original character designer.

“FLCL” visual file folder and FLCL key holder set will be sold at AnimeJapan 2018 for Y4,000.  Starting on March 30th, it can be purchased through the TOHO animation store.
