IZ*ONE x SALEWA winter coat collaboration excites fans worldwide

Fans of IZ*ONE are reacting with glee when fans in Korea began posting photos of advertisements featuring IZ*ONE and apparel and footwear company, SALEWA.

While we are still awaiting to see what SALEWA will post on their official website in Korea or on social media in terms of IZ*ONE, the mention of a collaboration goes back in August 2018.

One thing is for certain, for those who weren’t familiar with SALEWA, many of you will now.

SALEWA was founded in 1935 by Josef Liebhart, a director of Munich’s Saddlers and Tapestry Handlers.  The company would develop photobags, backpacks, leather soccerballs, tank bags and ski poles back in the ’40s and were known for developing the unique Andes backpack in 1955.

In 2007, Salewa branched out to other countries, where in Korea, the most important market for outdoor equipment in Asia, 44 Salewa stores were opened with a local partner and 18 more stores followed.

In 2015, the company introduced their new logo to consumers and in 2018, the company redefined itself as customer centric functional and as a technical mountaineering brand.

IZ*ONE (pronounced as “Eyez One”/IZ=12 and the meaning is 12 members coming togther as ONE) features Jang Wonyoung, Miyawaki Sakura, Jo Yuri, Choi Yena, Ahn Yujin, Yabuki Nako, Kwon Eunbi, Kang Hyewon, Honda Hitomi, Kim Chaewon, Kim Minjoo and Lee Chae Yeon.

The 12 members are the finalists of Mnet’s “Produce48” which began with 48 trainees from South Korea and 48 members of Japan’s AKB48G (AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48).

Slated to make their music debut at the end of October, it was announced this past weekend that the group will be starring in a reality TV show also in October on MNET.
