Uemura Azusa withdraws from NMB48

Uemura Azusa joined NMB48 as the winner of the post-Yamada Nana audition back in 2015.

As a member of NMB48’s Team BII, fans were shocked to find out that Uemura has made the decision to withdraw from NMB48.

The official statement from NMB48 Theater Manager Kaneko Takeshi and Uemura’s final comments are as follows:

To everyone who is always cheering for me.

I, Uemura Azusa have withdrawn from NMB48.  Sorry to suddenly tell you this, in this way.

About four years of being active, although there were things I regret, I did receive a lot of happiness from everyone.  I’ve been active in a way that is not like an idol and you accepted me and I was shining because of your love and I appreciate it.

I am grateful to all the staff who have taken care of me and also the members as well.  Since passing the Yamada Nana audition and joining NMB48 alone, so there are no other members that I joined with but with everyone’s support, I kept doing my best.

There is no regrets.  I love you so much that it troubled me on making this decision, but I decided on what I wanted to do.

I will work hard to see you all again, so I can give my gratitude right back.  I really thank you!

Uemura will be concluding all activities of NMB48 today and will not be participating any future handshakes.    An announcement will be made to those who have individual handshake meeting tickets.
