LUNA SEA vocalist Kawamura Ryuichi had surgery for lung cancer

It was revealed on Kawamura Ryuichi’s official website that the singer had surgery on January 11th to remove adenocarcinoma of the lung (lung cancer) which was found at his regular checkup last year by endoscopy.

The cancer cells were completely removed and there is no need for future radiation or anticancer drug therapy.

Kawamura is recovering and will return after a few weeks of rest.

A return date of activities will be posted on the official website.
