Moritaka Chisato kicked off her first nationwide tour in 21 years

Moritaka Chisato (49) was one of the Japan’s top idol singers in the late ’80s and beloved singers in the ’90s.

When she got married to actor Eguchi Yosuke (51) in 1999, Moritaka devoted her time raising their two children and took a break from show business until returning and releasing music on her YouTube channel and making TV appearances again.

In 2019, Moritaka began her nationwide tour “Kono Machi” (this town) for the first time in 21 years, kicking off her tour at Saitama on January 26th.

Moritaka perormed 19 songs including her big hit singles in front of an audience of 1,400 people.

And even at the age of 49, Moritaka displayed her well-known mini-skirt and her legs.

Moritaka Chisato made her debut back in 1987 with her single “NEW SEASON” at the age of 17 and will turn 50 in April during the tour.

Moritaka will perform in 29 prefectures, 36 venues through December 2019.

In December, she will be performing in Kumamoto, which was affected by the earthquake in 2016 and also the area where Moritaka was born and raised.  The performance will be the first time Moritaka performed in the area in 26 years.
