Avril Lavigne performed in Japan for the first time in five years since announcing that she has been suffering from Lyme Disease.
The popular Canadian singer/songwriter had a popular following in Japan prior to her announcement five years ago.
Avril performed in Tokyo on the 27th and released a new album titled “Head Above Water”.
The live in front of 130 people featured a mini-live and talk show for her fans.
Avril said about her album, “This album is like my movie. I told my stories which I have experienced in the last few years. I have always wanted to sing but because I was fighting (Lyme Disease), I had the time to rewrite songs many times. It’s a very special album and is very real and a lot of lyrics touch upon very deep moments in my life”.
