On March 9th, Hori had a pathological examination with her physician and was told that the cancer was completely removed during surgery.
As part of her follow-up appointments, Hori posted on her blog on April 15th that she was diagnosed with stage 1 esophageal cancer.
Hori wrote on her latest blog post, “I was hospitalized again today. I was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. The result was found through a stomach camera during my last hospitalization”.
Hori added, “This is neither a metastasis nor a recurrence of tongue cancer. But it seem to be the same squamous cell carcinoma. Fortunately, it was found through early detection. I was surprised because I had no symptoms at all. But it is better to have them removed early, so the doctors were quick to respond and the operation is set for April 16th”.
