Manga artist Monkey Punch (Kato Kazuhiko) has passed away at the age of 81 of pneumonia on April 11th.
The manga artist best known for his work for “Lupin III” was a professor of Manga Animation at Otemae Uniersity (Faculty of Media and Arts) and a visiting professor at Tokyo University of Techno9logy in May 2010.
Kato was suggested the pen name “Monkey Punch” back in 1965 and kept the name after “Lupin III” became popular back in 1967.
