STU48-go was officially launched

Back in October 2016, STU48 was officially announced. Co-owned by the tourism board of Setouchi Region, the idol group is the only group to have a shipboard theater.

Unfortunately, the group had to be patient as delays have affected the group. The ship which was set for the summer of 2018 but was delayed due to the 2018 Japan floods and so, the group had to wait until spring 2019.

Despite not having a theater ready, the group released two singles “Kurayami” (2018) and “Kaze wo Matsu” (Feb. 2019) which both debuted at #1.

And now, the group’s ship, STU48-go has officially launched and the ship commissioning ceremony was held at Hiroshima port .

STU48 Captain Okada Nana said, “From this day, STU48 had been longing for a long departure and perform on the boat’s theater. So, this is a real beginning for us and we will stand and continue to make every effort to become a group loved by Japan and the rest of the world, and we will make the people of Setouchi proud”.
