Former AKB48 member, Nakamura Mariko (25) has been an announcer at Santelevision in Kobe City since 2017.
Nakamura was offered a renewal to her contract but declined.
When the station was asked of why, a spokesperson said that “In respect to her, they can’t go into details. But she will be leaving Kobe”.
Nakamura also appeared on “San TV News”, “Mayumi & Katsunari no Expert GOLF” and “Rare Sugar Cooking”.
Nakamura released a statement, “I received an offer to renew my contract and I was worried about whether I wanted to continue with San TV or head on to the next job, I decided that now was the time to step up. I’m thinking of studying in a place that is not in the front of the media and to learn something new which I have not done before. When I see you someday, I will show you an improved version of myself”.
