Nogizaka46 captain Sakurai Reika (25) announced that she will be graduating from the group on September 1st.
Sakurai said that while the number of members graduating has increased, she started to think about what field she would like to pursue after Nogizaka46. So, she wanted to create a new path. And for the future growth of the group and those who will be future members, and for her self, as one of the early members and the first captain of Nogizaka46, she wants to make sure that she does her best and make people feel proud.
Sakurai’s final performance will be at Jingu Stadium.
Sakurai passed the Nogizaka46 audition back on August 11th and became temporary captain. She would officially become the captain of the group in 2012.
