Will AKS civil lawsuit reveal new details on the Yamaguchi Maho assault?

AKS had filed a civil lawsuit on the two men who are accused of physically assaulting then-NGT48 member Yamaguchi Maho back in December 2018.

AKS is seeking 30 million yen in damages, which includes money lost due to theater performance cancellations, tour cancellation and advertisement cancellations.

There are comments on SNS that AKS is responsible for their own damage because of their inappropriate response to Yamaguchi’s assault and how they treated Yamaguchi prior to her graduating from the group.

AKS said they would like to clarify the truth in public and prevent the incident from happening again and may not call other members or Yamaguchi during the trial.

There is a possibility that two assailants, who did not respond to the third party commission investigation, may testify and reveal new facts on the case.

While the commission said there is no evidence of NGT48 members being involved with Yamaguchi’s assault, public opinion on SNS is that members were involved.

Proceedings will begin on September 20th.
