UUUM releases investigation and statement in regards to YouTuber Watanabe Mahoto

Popular YouTuber Watanabe Mahoto (26), who has 2.7 million followers, was arrested in Minato-ku, Tokyo on the morning of June 2nd for beating a woman (a former idol, Yumemiru Adolescence member Kyoka) whom he cohabitated with and stepping on her face.

According to reports, Mahoto said he was drunk.  News reports are saying that his girlfriend confronted Mahoto in regard to his infidelity and he got angered and beat and injured her.

Mahoto was scheduled to release his debut single with his hip hop group Kaiware Hammer (featuring Mahoto and fellow YouTuber Imiga)  from  major record company, avex trax this summer.  Mahoto was the rapper known as BEMA (from WatanaBEMAhoto).

UUUM who represents Mahoto has released the findings of their investigation and a statement.

UUUM exclusive creator, Watanabe Mahoto, caused injury and also inconvenience to other parties and stakeholders and all fans who support UUUM creators.  We would like to express our sincere apologies for not meeting the expectations of many people.

The company received the matter and proceeded to investigate the facts, in response to the completion of the investigation, we will announce the following disciplinary action:

1.  Watanabe’s disciplinary action

There will be a silent period through December 31, 2019.  All creator activities will be suspended and alcohol use will be prohibited.  In addition, he will be engaging in supplementary services within the company and after the period has passed, conduct a review and a decision will be made to resume activites in January 2020.

2.  Prevention of Reoccurence

We have been working on a creator compliance training and lifestyle guidance before, but in the future, we will strive to improve the quality of the training and guidance.

3.  Payment to UUUM customers who purchased “a-nation 2019” Aomori Performance for Kaiware Hammer

With the inactivity of UUUM exclusive creator Watanabe Mahoto, the appearance of Kaiware Hammer will be discontinued.  We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused to guests who were looking forward to the appearance.  For this reason, we will reimburse paying customers who purchased a Kaiware Hammer ticket from UUUM.
