Actress Sawajiri Erika (33) was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department on November 16th for possessing the synthetic drug MDMA in Tokyo.
MDMA (known in other countries as “Molly”) is a synthetic drug that acts as a stimulant and hallucinogen. It produces an energizing effect, distortions in time and perception, and enhanced enjoyment from sensory experiences.
Sawajiri debuted in the entertainment world as a magazine model when she was in sixth grade and turned to acting in 2003 for Fuji TV’s “Hotman” series and then her film debut in 2005 with the film “Pacchigi!”.
Sawajiri is no stranger to controversy, at the 2007 film premiere for “Closed Note”, Sawajiri behaved as if she didn’t want to be there.
In September 2009, media reported that Sawajiri’s contract would be voided by Stardust Promotions for undisclosed reasons. Her mother denied that the termination of her contract was the result of substance abuse.
