Former Angerme/Shugo Chara Egg! member Fukuda Kanon (24) wrote a heartbreaking Instagram post about her father passing away at the age of 49.
Fukuda wrote, “My father suddenly left for Heaven. I thought about writing this on SNS, as it is a way for me to organize my feelings and for my father who always checked my Instagram”.
Fukuda continued, “He was still young at the age of 49-years-old, and I’m realizing how he passed away suddenly and how fragile life is. I don’t feel anything. I have been hoping it was all a dream and I still think it is. I moved away to Tokyo, but we managed to stay in contact often”.
“I don’t want to accept it, so why do I have to accept this? I have regrets, I made a promise to meet my father but I felt we could always meet each other because we’re family. I can’t regret it even if I am regretful, I’ll have to regret it”.
“He was healthy and rarely ill. I was worried about the alcohol and cigarettes, but I never thought he was going to die. He was young, cool and proud”.
Fukuda goes into how she can’t stop looking at her mobile phone screen and looking at photos and how her tears can’t stop and how she dreamed of her father walking her down the aisle as a bride (the term that Fukuda uses is “Virgin Road”) and wonders why God took away something precious from her.
Fukuda ended her post with, “Dad, thank you for everything! It will take some time to accept it and for me to believe it. But I’m going to be alright. I’m already an adult, so please don’t worry”.
