The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department arrested the president of anime studio Gainax Co. on Thursday.
Maki Tomohiro (50) allegedly coerced a teenage woman into posing for nude images and touching her, and doing so in the pretext that he was training her for photoshoots as an entertainer.
Maki allegedly made the woman bare her upper body, took photos of her and touched her between Feb. 6 and the 23rd, earlier this year at his condo in Adachi ward.
Maki is an executive who also trains voice actors and made the woman, who signed a contract with the company, that the residence was a women’s dormitory.
Gainax Co. is a studio known for producing “Neon Genesis Evangelion” and “Gurren Lagann”.
