Actor Ishida Junichi tested positive for COVID-19

It was revealed on April 15th that actor Ishida Junichi (66) tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

His management made the announcement on their official blog.

According to the statement, on April 14th, Ishida was hospitalized because of symptoms of pneumonia.  The infection was confirmed on April 15th.

Ishida went to Okinawa for work on April 10th and felt exhausted on April 11th.  He took a rest at a hotel and returned back to Tokyo on April 13th.

His wife, professional golfer Higashio Riko and their children are doing well and are staying at home.
