Musician Sakamoto Ryuichi (69) who has been receiving treatment for oropharyngeal cancer in 2014 announced on January 21st on his label “commons” that he is suffering from rectal cancer.
According to his website, Sakamoto had surgery which was successful and is receiving treatment.
Sakamoto wrote, “I was relieved that the oropharyngeal cancer that I had in 2014 was relieved after 6 years, but unfortunately, a new rectal cancer was discovered. I have successfully completed the surgery and I am now treated, and working on hard in getting well. I will continue to live with cancer. I want to make a little more music, so I hope everyone will continue to support me”.
