Man who harassed Kimura Hana online received a fine for Y9,000, Kimura Kyoko announces non-profit organization “Remember Hana”

A man from Osaka prefecture who was accused of harassing professional wrestler Kimura Hana and one of the cast of the reality Fuji TV show “Terrace House”, was ordered by a Tokyo Summary Court to pay a fine of Y9,000 ($81 US).

The harassment on social media drove Kimura Hana to take her own life.

According to the indictment, the man wrote anonymously eight times on Kimura Hana’s Twitter from May 14-22 with comments “Is it worth living because you have a bad personality?” and “When will you die?”.

Kimura Kyoko, the mother of Hana, announced today that she started an Non Profit Organization (NPO) titled “Remember Hana”.  The corporation will create education directed to educational institutions on the effects of bullying and harassment online.
