Dance group MAX is celebrating their 26th anniversary since their debut back in 1995.
While the group performed as Amuro Namie’s background dancers and were known as The Super Monkeys, 2021 has no doubt been a challenging year as members have become new mothers and the challenge of live work due to the pandemic.
Member NANA took part in an article for With News, in the article, NANA said that while the novel coronavirus has not subsided, it has been difficult to perform any performing arts or music activities but believes that “continuation is power”. Music activities are centered around live performances. While the group did an online LIVE with no audience held last July, NANA said that while nothing is better than performing live to an audience at a venue, there are advantages of performing online.
The production last year included viewers sitting in special seats and the house becoming a live venue. The group opened a fan club, YouTube and the number of fans supporting the group has increased. And the group was able to release their new single “Do Shot”, their first single in two years. And because promotional activities are focus on online, since the song can be distributed worldwide, their music can reach fans that they would never have been able to reach until now.
