Miyawaki Sakura reveals that she is ending her radio show “Konya, Sakura no Kinoshita de” (Saku no ki), Yabuki Nako tells Sakura how she feels about her

Miyawaki Sakura announced on her radio show “Konya, Sakura no Kinoshita de” (a.k.a. Saku no ki) at the end of the month.

The announcement was confirmed by BayFM on the Saku no Ki website.

The radio show has been airing for numerous years, since Miyawaki Sakura was a member of HKT48 prior to becoming a member of global pop group, IZ*ONE.

The timing is suspect with speculation that she is being signed to Korean entertainment company HYBE, as many felt Sakura’s involvement with the radio show made a greater connection with fans and she used her radio platform also to help popularize IZ*ONE in Japan and giving insight to her career but also with a bit of behind-the-scenes with the groups she was a member of and members. And was well-enjoyed by listeners internationally.

For the latest episode, Miyawaki Sakura had Yabuki Nako as a guest.  And the two talked IZ*ONE and in one of the surprising and touching revelations, Miyawaki Sakura said on the day she, Yabuki Nako and Honda Hitomi returned back home to Japan, Kim Minju traveled with them to the airport in the car.  Minju was crying and then Honda Hitomi was crying.

Also, it was revealed that Yabuki Nako was the first person who wanted to audition for “Produce48”.  And how during the pandemic, while it was Jang Wonyoung, Sakura, Nako and Yuri staying in one room, after they moved, Nako became roomates with Jo Yuri and how the two grew close.  Yuri asking Nako, “When can we meet?  Don’t tell me we can only meet when we become grandmas?”.

Also revealed that before they left to Japan, the members had a meal together and chatted and had an exchange session where they gave away clothes they didn’t want anymore.

But the two discussed how they meant to each other and how they are like sisters.

Nako also showed her gratitude to Sakura by writing a letter, “Dear Sakuchan, it’s my first time writing a letter to you like this so I feel a bit shy, but It’ll make me happy if you can read this until he end. It’s been 8 years since I met you, after being in IZ*ONE together, we became so much closer that people say we are like sisters.  But for me, you have always been a senior I looked up to.  I’ve hidden my feelings all this time since I am shy but I am always happy, so happy and have been happy with you!  Since you graduated  from HKT48, there are a lot of things I feel uneasy about but while remember and seeing you up-close, I’ll think about what I can do and continue to work hard from now on.  I really thank you for teaching me various things and for creating this opportunity f9or us to talk today. Thank you!   While the time for us to see each other may lessen, I will always support you! If you have time, I want us to have a meal or hang out together! I love Sakuchan!”
