Sakurazaka46 members Moriya Akane (23) and Watanabe Rika (26) announced on their official blogs that they are graduating from the group after the activity of the latest single “Nagaradema”.
Moriya wrote, “I, Moriya Akane, decided to graduate from the group after our activities for the 3rd single. Since last year, I’ve been looking at my future and the current group, and I think I’ve done all what I can for my idol activities. When I think about my future, because of my age, what I want to do is, I want to try a different place other than here, so I don’t want to lie, I decided to graduate. I ‘m proud of being able to work at Sakurazaka46 for the rest of my life, and it’s like a dream to end up as a member of Sakurazaka46. I will study from scratch to make it happen, and I will do my best to meet you again. It is not a goodbye, so I hope you look forward to that day”.
Watanabe wrote, “I am graduating from Sakurazaka46 after activities for our 3rd single. I am sorry for those surprised at the sudden announcement. It seems like it’s been a long time, and I’ve had a lot of dreams in 6 years. I’m very sad that I will no longer be a member of Sakurazaka46, but I want to try new things in a new place. Thank you very much for your support in the last six years! I would like to see all the fans again someday”.
