Shonen Knife’s bassist Ritsuko has left the band to pursue a solo career

Shonen Knife bassist, Ritsuko has left the band to pursue her career as a solo artist and composer. The announcement was made on the Shonen Knife blog.

Ritsuko wrote:

To all Shonen Knife fan

I left Shonen Knife.
Actually, I want to have my final show to see you, but I could not.
So I make my farewell to you at here.

You know, I was a big fan of Shonen Knife.
My 1st covered song was Shonen Knife’s song when I was a university student.
And then, I became a member of Shonen Knife.
It likes dream comes true!!
I remember touring all over the world, and it was a fun memory.

I like writing a song.
I like singing a song.
Now, it’s the turning point of my life.
The rest of my life, I hope to go my way.
My music life will be continued.
As long as we are both in this world. we can see each other anytime.
Thank you for all of you.
See you！

Ritsuko, bass and vocal, left the band for focusing on her project as a solo artist and a composer.
