Longtime AKB48 member Iriyama Anna, who has spent years in Mexico as an actress, announced on January 4th that she will graduate on a live stream on her YouTube channel. The graduation is scheduled for the middle of March.
Iriyama said, “I, Iriyama Anna will graduate from AKB48. I joined AKB at the age of 14, and this is my 12th year. The reason I decided to graduate now is, I wanted to graduate when I didn’t have any negative feelings. I didn’t want to quit when I was wondering if AKB would be okay or if it would be okay for my future. I didn’t want to quit when it was hard. Since I went to Mexico, I often watched AKB’s activities from the outside, and there are many junior members, but everyone is shining so brightly that I have no worries about AKB now. I thought that I was doing AKB activities myself and it was really fun, I was active as an idol at theaters and concerts, I was really enjoying it, and I was really happy to join AKB. I decided to graduate while I was still having fun with this activity. I want to give AKB a lot of things and give back a lot to AKB, and I want to do my best as AKB until graduation”.
