Yamamoto was told by her doctor last year that her thyroid gland was out of balance, and she was doing her day-to-day activities with restrictions. Yamamoto and staff felt it was in important that her physical condition was the highest priority and decided she needed to take a rest”.

Yamamoto was in the band MAD CATZ formed by music school friends during her junior high school years.  She then passed the audition for NMB48 in September 2010 and ranked #4 in the AKB48 General Election in June 2016.  Yamamoto graduated from NMB48 in November 2018 to focus on her solo music career.
