Nogizaka46 member Yamazaki Rena (25) appeared on her TOKYO FM’s radio show “Yamazaki Rena no Dareka ni Hanashitakatta Koto.” (M-TH, 1:00 to 2:55) and announced that she is graduating from the group on July 17th.

Yamazaki said her last live was their 10th anniversary live from last month.

Yamazaki said, “There is not one simple reason, but from joining at the age of 15, I am now 25 years old, I experienced various things, saw them, and finally decided to graduate. I made this decision. There are many people in our office, or the group, who are really supportive. As I talk roughly about the future of the group, my interests, the president, seniors, etc., my feelings gradually became organized. I had a feeling of doing it. Now that I’m looking forward to it even after graduating from the group, I wonder if it’s the best I can do now at this time as I’ve been looking forward to living life in these past few years. I went to the president, who has been indebted to me for a long time, and told him that I was thinking of quitting. I have a lot of anxiety, but I want to be the one who can continue to challenge various things without losing. I haven’t decided so much about the future, but it’s not that everything will change drastically after graduating from the group. While I have been indebted to Tokoro (Nogizaka46 GK) for a while, I am really grateful that I will continue to do many of the regular work and serialization including this program”.

Yamazaki passed the second year audition in March 2013 and was promoted as regular member in February 2015. She attended Keio University on April 2016 and graduated in March 2020.
