GACKT makes first public appearance since hiatus

GACKT made his first appearance for the announcement of the launch of “Ippan Shadanhojin Saisei Iryo Fukushi Shien Kikin” (General Incorporated Association, Regenerative Medicine Welfare Support Fund) held in Osaka City on June 17th. The fund is for the purpose of support medical expenses for people with disabilities and research expenses related to regenerative medicine.

GACKT has made large donation contributions towards the fund and was commended by the corporation.

The appearance was his first in nine months since he went on hiatus and suspended all activities due to poor physical condition back in September 2021. GACKT announced his intention to resume activities back on May 16th.

GACKT appeared in a black suit with sunglasses, smiled and said, “Good evening everyone. It’s been a long time, so I’m a little nervous. I’ve been receiving treatment for awhile now and I’ve finally been able to recover to this point, though I’m not 100%. I have a lot of things I want to deliver to my fans, but today is for the fund, but I’m planning to deliver it on my birthday of next month, so I’d like to talk again about it on that day. I think the day when we can deliver my singing voice to the fans is near”.
