“Bohemian” singer Katsuragi Yuki has passed away due to cancer

Singer Katsuragi Yuki (73) as passed away. Known for her husky voice and her song “Bohemian”, the singer died at a hospital in Tokyo on June 27th due to peritoneal cancer.

Last April, Katsuragi was diagnosed with stage 4 peritoneal cancer and was hospitalized shortly after.

She had two surgeries and her hospital stay was longer than the ten months that was originally planned. She was able to perform on stage on May 17, 2022.

According to news sources, Katsuragi got sick the week after her return back on stage. While she wasn’t hospitalized, she appeared in a unit concert on June 17th and performed the song “Rose” with a faint voice.

She told fans that night, that she was “thankful” and “grateful for my life” and then told everyone that “she can only live for a few days”.

Before 9 am on June 27th, she called someone that she had called an ambulance and thanked them. And that she was prepared for her death. Five hours later, she was hospitalized and passed away.
