AKB48 sister group, YKBK48 ends activities for DEL48 and MUB48 in India

AKLB48 sister group which was announced to be launched in two cities in India, unfortunately have ended.   The activities of DEL48 and MUB48 was officially ended according to a statement by YKBK48 Entertainment.

On July 13, 2022, the local operating company YKBK48 announced the termination and closure of the company. The reason is the unstable situation attributed to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

According to the company, they were planning to start operation after a comedy movie produced by YKBK48 but due to the unstable situation of the novel coronavirus in India, the activities of DEL48 and MUB48 have ended.

AKB48 Groups in other countries have not fared well with SGO48 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam having disbanded in December of last year.

JKT48, the largest and long running AKB48G group in another country (Jakarta, Indonesia) announced on the official website on January 11, 2021 that they will be reducing the number of JKT48 members and staff.  At the time, In Jakarta, regulations have been tightened and JKT48 activities have been severely restricted and theater performances have been suspended. The situation had not improved even with paid live streaming distributions of theater performances.

Members who were asked to leave the group were scheduled to attend a special graduation ceremony in February and 26 people will graduate from the original 65 members. A reduction of 40% for JKT48.

YKBK48 was a join venture between Japan and India and MUB48 based in Mumbai and DEL48 based in Northern India were originally announced.
