Sakurazaka46 captain Sugai Yuuka (26) updated her blog on August 22nd and announced her graduation from the group.
She will performing on the nationwide tour starting on September but will be graduating on the last stage of the Tokyo Dome performance which is on November 8th and 9th.
In an excerpt of her blog post, Sugai wrote:
The countless connections I have made are precious treasures for me. Because there were so many things that made me happy, many trials and shocking events, things that I can’t do anything with my own power rush one after another, there were times when it became difficult to continue.
To fulfill my responsibilities as captain, sometimes I am attacked by a feeling of loneliness and helplessness, I hated myself many times.
At times like that, everyone who accepts me as I am, rejoices with me, and sometimes shares my frustration with me is very reassuring…
‘Your existence will someday lead to confidence’, It was an irreplaceable driving force.
Experiences that make your chest tighten just by remembering, I’m sure it was all a necessary learning.
I may not have become a captain who everyone recognizes as a captain, after thinking about it in my own way I have always done what I thought was best.
Everyone who believed in me and followed me, To all the members who walked with me. I want to say thank you very much.
Through the activities of Keyakizaka46 and Sakurazaka46 I hope I can be someone’s hope even if for a little.
Sugai continued:
From now on, I spend more time facing myself. A lot of unprecedented experiences and challenges. I want to become a mature person with a rich heart while encountering things I never imagined and making new discoveries.
And I want to pave the way, so that I can do activities that deliver excitement and power to someone.
I will do my best to meet you in some way in the future!
Even if I’m alone, just like Sakurazaka’s song, It shouldn’t be as lonely as you thought.
About two months until graduation day.

Of course, those who are by my side right now. I would like to take this time to express my gratitude to all the people who have brought me this far.
We are planning to visit 6 cities in our nationwide tour starting in September!
At each place, I will perform as hard as I can while looking at everyone’s faces and will be thanking them until now.
I would be happy if we could spend an unforgettable time together.
And that the final stage will be the Tokyo Dome, where Sakurazaka46 once again dreamed of standing together. I am so grateful and happy!
While appreciating the efforts of many people to be able to stand in that place, I would like to prepare so that I can perform the culmination of 7 years with my favorite members!! ︎

Also, I wanted to express my gratitude directly to everyone who supported me a lot after letting them know about my graduation.
