Actress Kawaei Rina (28) will be starring in the Nippon Television drama series “Tonari no Nurse Aide” (Wednesdays, 10pm) starting next January.
Kawaei will be starring in a drama series in a leading role for the first time during the Golden Prime period (7pm to 11pm).
Based on the novel of the same name by Chinen Mikito , a practicing doctor and author. It is a medical entertainment work that centers on a nurse aide who cannot perform medical procedures but is in charge of assisting patients with meals, toilets, bathing, and dressing, and the script was written by Okura, a leading broadcast writer in the comedy world.
Kawaei plays Sakuraba Mio, a new nurse aide. She is a hard-working medical geek, and because of her inability to leave patients in trouble alone, she deals with the various worries of patients that arise within the hospital.
Kawaei said, “I think in the past medical dramas have often focused on the doctors and nurses, but this time, while helping the doctors and nurses with their work, we are focusing on the patients more than anyone else. This is a completely new drama told from the perspective of a nurse aide who is close to the people who care for her”.
