Matsutoya Yumi’s 50th anniversary collaboration best album “Yumin Kanpai!!” will be released on December 20th

Universal Music LLC has released Matsutoya Yumi’s collaboration best album “Yumin Kanpai!!” to commemorate Matsutoya Yumi’s 50th anniversary on Wednesday, December 20th.

The collaboration album features numerous artists such as YOASOBI, Kuwata Keisuke, Nina Kraviz, RHYMESTER, Nogizaka46, GLIM SPANKY, Quruli and more performing Matsutoya Yumi songs.

In 1972, while studying at Tama Art University, she made her debut as Arai Yumi with the single “Henji wa Iranai”.” She is affectionately known as Yumin, and has written many famous songs such as “Hikouki Gumo”, “Ysashisani Tutumaretanara”,”Mamotte Agetai”, “Manatsu no Yo no Yume”, “Hello, my Friend”, and “Haruyo Koi”, to name a few.

She has released 39 original albums so far. She is the first solo artist in history to sell over 30 million albums, and continues to be active as one of Japan’s leading female artists.

Last year, on July 5, 2022, Matsutoya celebrated her 50th anniversary since her debut, and on October 4, she released “Banzai Yumin – Yumi Matsutoya 50th Anniversary Best Album”. It became the first song in the history of Oricon to reach number one in the 6th category. Starting in May of this year, in commemoration of her 50th anniversary, she will hold the largest national arena tour of her career, “50th Anniversary Matsutoya Yumi Concert Tour The Journey.” Including additional performances, a total of 54 performances are expected to attract 574,000 people.
