Former Morning Musume member Michishige Sayumi was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder

Former Morning Musume member Michishige Sayumi (34) was diagnosed with obsessive-compulsive disorder.  The announcement was from the official website of her agency.

According to the site, “Michishige Sayumi  has been overly picky and overly sensitive in certain areas of work, and has been reported to have strong feelings of anxiety and fear. Therefore, she went to the hospital for an examination, and the doctor diagnosed her with obsessive-compulsive disorder.  As a result of consultation with her doctor, she decided to restrict some of my activities until she sees an improvement in her symptoms. She will continue to monitor the progress of my symptoms with regard to future concert activities, etc.  We plan to continue as usual while keeping this in mind. We apologize for any concern and inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for your understanding”.

Michishige joined Morning Musume in January 2003 as a 6th generation member. Her classmates are Tanaka Reina  and Kamei Eri. She made her CD debut with her 19th single “Shabondama” in July of the same year. In May 2012, she took over the leadership role from Niigaki Risa and became the 8th leader of Morning Musume.  And graduated from the group and Hello! Project in November 26, 2014.
